Medical Debt and Therapy

After losing my job in March I suffered a schizophrenic break that landed me in the hospital in May of this year. It was a terrifying time where I was unable to keep up on bills or look for work. After a short hospital stay I was diagnosed with PTSD and needed to move cross country to stay with a relative and recover. 

Because I knew I would need help with trauma and gender therapy I came out as nonbianary to my family just as this was happening, but have moved from liberal Seattle to a conservative area in New York State where I do not have the same resources and connections to find work. I am looking for a therapist I can afford locally but am not currently covered for trauma therapy by my insurance. 

The move and need for psychiatric care have left me in debt. I had to rent a Uhaul and pay for transit and am still paying rent on an apartment I do not live in anymore. Aside from needing care now I have also discovered over $1000 in old medial debts are in collections and need to be paid off. 

I know many people are need help right now, but I am hoping to get my own car (looking at used ones around $4000!) and to get to therapy in the new year and need assistance to get me on my feet. 

I deleted all of my social media after coming out during my mental health crisis due to paranoia so every share helps!
