A message from the Lamke Family:
We are sending a huge heartfelt thank you for the overwhelming support we have received during this horrific time. We are so thankful our son and brother has had such an impact on so many people from all across Canada.

Josh Lamke,
October 27th 1994-April 24th 2024

Josh was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario by his parents Shawn & Melissa Lamke and his younger sister Kali Lamke. A few short years after graduating high school, Josh came to Alberta and started off his pipeline career, and made many friends while doing so, and slowly turned some of those friends into his chosen family. Through the years Josh had a habit of going wherever work led him, a gypsy of the road if you will. He let the road guide him, and often talked about where he would lay some roots down and have a place to call home. He decided the place he wanted to call home was in Blackfalds, Alberta right next door to his bestfriend whom’ he considered no less than a brother. He planned to share this home with his girlfriend Abby, and their dogs Lennox & Kayda. He passed away in this home on the night of April 24th.

If you knew Josh, you knew that he was a man of many great qualities. He was a man who devoted himself to working hard, and loving his family and friends even harder. He had a sense of humour that was unmatched, a laugh that was contagious, and a strong headed personality that we all knew and grew to appreciate. He was a man that went above and beyond to help those he loved without ever asking for anything in return. With that being said, we’re asking that if you knew Josh in any way, or he showed you a helping hand, that we return that kindness to his family during this difficult time.
This was an unexpected heartbreak, and his parents had to fly to Alberta to clear his home. We don’t want them to have to worry about anything other than getting Josh’s affairs in order. This will help with their flight costs, fuel, accommodations, occurring financials of Josh’s, and the memorials.
They know their son had friends and family in Alberta and want to be able to offer a celebration of life in Alberta, as well as Thunder Bay. Those dates will be further determined.

Knowing the Pipeline/Oilfield Industry, we know how many men struggle with Mental Health and being away from their family. As a result of that Josh's family will send any of the donations that aren’t needed to men’s mental health, the “Movember Foundation”.
