Help Mepham get to Nationals at Hayward Field

I vividly remember the sizzling energy of walking into the massive and legendary Franklin Field at UPenn stadium for the first time. Standing under the bright lights and performing before ten thousand spectators. Knowing I shared the track with athletes of the highest caliber from all over the nation. It was opportunities like this in high school that changed my life. Fused me with those teammates around me sharing the spotlight. Made me determined to be an NCAA athlete. Immersed me deep in the rewarding culture of Track and Field. Endowed me with the knowledge to lead and coach.

 

Through this trip we will create the opportunity to give up to 20 young athletes on the Mepham Track and Field teams the same remarkable experiences. Nearly a dozen have already qualified to compete at the National Championships in another Pantheonic and stunning coliseum at the heart of not only US but world Track and Field culture. Where Olympic Trials and USA Championships and Diamond League events are held annually.

But we need help to get them there. This is an expensive undertaking. Knowing the profound impact an event like this had on my teammates and I in high school, I find myself contemplating which of our athletes may find their chemistry altered and their perspective moved by the electric environment and invigorating sense of purpose created by traveling to such a competition and venue together. And this crew is far more talented and deserving than we were. They have worked extremely hard all season to qualify and earn this chance. Some of them for three seasons. Some of them for four years. Others have overcome major obstacles to get here. Together we can take them the rest of the way.
