#HEALHEATHERSHEART ♥️ I first met Heather Anen years before she was married to Said Shamsudin and had her 4 beautiful children. What has always impressed me about Heather is her spirit, kindness, compassion and love for others. When Heather had her first baby I helped her as a midwife and continued that relationship through the birth of her four children. Heather’s youngest daughter, Amali, was born at home on August 5, 2019 without any complications.
On Saturday August 31st, Heather complained to her husband that she wasn’t feeling well and was displaying symptoms of a heart attack. She was rushed to Morristown Medical Center and was diagnosed with SCAD after being admitted to the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute. Last night as Heather continued to deteriorate the decision was made to perform open heart surgery and replace the torn artery. The cardiologist told the family it will be at least six months before she will begin to feel like herself and much longer before she can do any hands on child care. Heather had to stop nursing her 3 week old baby and will need to attend cardiac rehab after two months of resting in the hospital and at home.
Heather and Said have health insurance but it will not cover all the expenses of the devastating event that has occurred to Heather and her family.
Maternal related deaths are unfortunately on the rise in the US. Last night, if not for the amazing doctors and nurses at Morristown Medical Center, Heather’s situation would have been fatal.
100% of the donations will go towards Heather’s medical bills, recovery, family care.
