Mighty Matt's Battle with DIPG

Heather is a single mother to 5 beautiful children, ages ranging from 4-15 years old, one of which has autism. Heather is an amazing mother who gives each child an incredible amount of love and attention. She has strong faith in her Creator, Jesus Christ and loves the Word of God.
On April 1, her youngest child, Matthew (4 years old), fell and bumped his head resulting in a visit to the ER. After a few tests and an urgent trip to Valley Children's Hospital in Madera, doctors discovered a tumor and Matthew was diagnosed with DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) that same week. DIPG is a very rare, aggressive and incurable brain tumor located in the midbrain with a survival rate of less than 1% for 5 years following diagnosis. There is currently no treatment for DIPG. However, Matthew is about to embark on a road of trial treatments consisting of chemotherapy and radiation.
Standing firm in her faith, Heather believes that God can heal her son, whether by means of a miraculous touch or through medical treatment. She prays for God’s glory to be revealed through her family, regardless of the outcome. Heather has a close-knit support group of family, friends and an extended church family at Canyon Hills Assembly of God Church. Before the diagnosis, Heather was actively serving her church in the children and junior high ministries. She also spearheads a hiking club and is a student in a child’s psychology masters program. Heather has a propensity to love, serve, pray and help anyone, no matter the sacrifice. Her heart to give is inspiring.
Now, as she is the one who needs the love and support, we rally all who know and love her to come alongside Heather, Matthew, and the rest of the family and give by any means possible. Because we know, Heather would do it for you.
