Help bay area's only HS solar car team complete in Dallas

Tax deductible
Last year, in just under 4 months, our high school sophomore and junior students, with zero prior experience, took on the challenge of designing, researching, and fabricating a fully solar-powered car from scratch. Through their hard work and determination, they developed skills in metal fabrication, welding, and a design-thinking approach to build the first-ever solar car made by Bay Area high school students. Their creation was capable of reaching speeds of up to 40 MPH and passed all scrutineering tests, earning it road-worthy insurability. The team's impressive accomplishments earned them 2nd place in the ME/Car Design category, and their work was covered extensively by local and even some national media outlets.

Inspired by our success, the Miraj Race Club has designed, researched, and built an entirely new solar car, "La Vitesse" this year. The new design is half the weight of last year's model and is engineered to achieve speeds of up to 60 MPH. With innovative aerodynamics and advanced telemetry systems, the team is poised to take their performance to the next level and compete for the win.

The Miraj Race Club's accomplishments have been made possible thanks to the generous support of this community. Thus far, the team's parents have contributed to purchasing parts, supplies, and covering the rental costs for the workshop and training expenses for the new team members.
However, as the first and only high school team representing the Silicon Valley region, we now have the incredible opportunity to compete against 50 other high school teams from around the country at the prestigious national solar car competition in Dallas, Texas this July.

To give our team the best chance at success at this highly competitive national challenge, we need to raise additional funds to
  • purchase essential tools for car repair and updates while in Dallas $1400
  • spare parts and fasteners for replacements needed $1200
  • safety equipment $600
  • cover the costs of renting trailers to transport the car to local tracks for testing $800
  • cover the cost of transporting the car to Dallas and back $6000
  • cover the cost of "encapsulation process" of creating the solar cell array $6000

As a diversity-focused, inclusive STEM education initiative, the Miraj Race Club has expanded its reach this year, adding team members from other school districts around the Bay Area. With your support, we can continue to provide these talented students with the resources they need to push the boundaries of what's possible and represent the Bay Area on the national stage.

We are truly grateful for the community's support that has brought us this far, and we humbly ask for your continued generosity to help us set the team up for success at the national competition. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in the lives of these inspiring young individuals and help them realize their dreams.
