Monta's Medical Care: Hit By A Crossfaded Driver

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Deirdre and I am very greatful that you took the time to read my story. A little over 2 months ago our nightmare began when my son Monta was critically injured in an automobile accident. Monta was hit by a drunk driver. The driver that hit Monta's car didn't have current drivers license because they were revoked and he wasn't suppose to be driving at all. The residents living in the area had stated that the driver and passenger in the speeding car had been speeding up and down the street multiple times and speeding around the blocks as well. The driver was speeding down the driveway behind an apartment building and was doing donuts in their parking lot. One of the residents had stated that after the driver finished doing the donuts he started speeding up their driveway at a high rate of speed into moving traffic without stopping. Monta was driving northbound and all of a sudden out of nowhere his passenger front side of the car was hit with a very forceful impact that pushed his car across 3 lanes of traffic into a pickup truck. Monta was hit on the passenger side, driver's side and the front side of the vehicle. His car was totaled. I received a telephone call from one of the residents in that area saying Ma'am please get here as fast as you can your son was hurt badly in an accident. When I arrived I was asked who I was and they told me that the driver of the car didn't make it. I broke and ran straight to the ambulance and said wait open the door that's my son! The ambulance EMT's said they had to go because they were trying to save my son's life! I was told by the police that the driver was crossfaded/under the influence of both drugs and alcohol.

Monta had to go through a series of testing, scans and labs before finding out how serious his injuries were to his body. He has a severe concussion, large cuts throughout his body that were ripped open from his head down to his legs. He also has major broken bones throughout his body on both sides of his body upper and lower. He has some partial paralysis to his body. He can't walk at this time. He had an emergency 6 plus hour surgery and will be having more surgery. He has to use a lot of medical equipment and will be requiring more equipment in the near future. He will be needing physical therapy and occupational therapy at a later time in 2024.

A lot is still unknown and will depend on how he continues to progress and handle the treatments. This will be a very long and challenging journey for him and our family. He can no longer work and needs all of the support and encouragement that he can get. Even though the other driver's car had insurance his medical bills have already surpassed the limits. I'm asking for assistance to help with paying for medical bills, surgeries, medical equipment etc.

Monta didn't want me to post anything to social media but I shared with him that there are some great individuals in the world that don't mind helping others.

He said to me momma I'll be alright we'll just keep on praying God will make a way.
Monta is a very kind young man that would help anyone in need. He never met a stranger. He would feed you, give you a ride, he would even give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He loved to help the neighbors in the neighborhood. When he saw the neighbors trying to do something he would always say "let me do that for you, you wouldn't have to ask him for help. Monta really loves people and is always the life of the party everywhere he goes. He would make you smile without doing anything. The things he would do for others is endless. He loves the Kansas City Chiefs and can no longer attend their games. He also loved to barbecue year-round and would feed family, friends and neighbors. If you were just passing by he would offer you a plate.

Not to mention if you had a electronic problem with sound systems, computers, televisions or gaming systems he was the person to fix it for you.

Now he can't do anything that allowed him to have a quality life.

Even though he can't do anything that he enjoyed doing for others and himself he can still do one thing for sure and that is he will give you a great big smile when he sees you.

Please pray for Monta, our family and everyone who is involved in his care.

I've created this go fund me page for Monta since he has lost his employment and hoping that it will raise funds to help support some of his dire needs such as medical care, surgeries, medical equipment etc.

Thank You to everyone in advance for whatever you can assist us with, donations/prayers.

We APPRECIATE everyone's Support, Love, Kindness and Generosity!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
