Morgan Family Relocation and Medical Fundraiser

***Please help my parents in relocating to BC so I am better able to help them ***

Hello everyone! As many of you may know, my parents and I have always been a very close family. It has been challenging for all of us with me living across Canada and not seeing them often, as they still live in NS and I now live in BC. FaceTime and phone calls have been essential for us to get through these past few years. I have been doing everything I can to support them from afar but their physical health has been rapidly declining and they urgently need to move closer so I am able to help as they continue to age, and to get the medical care that they need here.

These past few years, in particular, have been a very challenging time for us, with the isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the passing of my husband, the passing of multiple family members and friends, the declining physical health of my parents, and the mental health strains caused by their health and their living situation – which has caused much hardship. It is challenging to reach out and ask for help, but given that my parents are surviving on a pension, and I am supporting myself since my husband's passing, we really do need the financial help to make this relocation happen. My parents also need access to the quality medical care that they could receive in BC, as it has reduced waiting times and more access to medical services, as compared to NS.

My parents declining health has made the planning for relocation challenging, as they are not able to fly because of their health conditions. We will need to rent an RV so that we have the facilities necessary for the trip. In addition to the relocation, I have included in the funding goal the cost of a medical bed as well, as they have been sleeping on a medical chair or couch because their bed is not suitable for their needs.

We are fundraising for the costs of:

the flight for me to get from Vancouver to Halifax (~$400-600)

the RV rental and associated costs (~$4800)

fuel for the RV to drive across Canada (~$2800)

the packing and shipping of their things by moving truck (~$6,000)

shipping their car (~$2000)

a medical bed (~$6,000)

and for some funding toward the start up costs for them here (i.e. rent/downpayment, start up costs in transferring to BC from NS)

While this situation may seem insurmountable, we have hope that all of this will somehow piece together with your help. Anything that you are able to give toward this fundraiser would mean the world to us as a family. We thank you in supporting us to make this happen.
