Mr. Dave Dubay & Hunter too!
Fire Relief Fund for David Dubay.
Dave is a Vacaville native who has lived in his family home in English Hills since 1964. Last week he lost everything; house, vehicle and a lifetime of memories... unfortunately his home wasn’t insured. He ran out in a pair of jeans with weed eater string as a belt and his dog in his arms after his neighbors had called and convinced him to leave. His plan had been to ride it out in the basement. He certainly wouldn’t have survived if it wasn’t for them. He ended up walking with his cane to the end of his driveway where a CHP officer had luckily drove by and picked him up. Dave is currently living in a tent with his dog Hunter.
This past week a handful of us have been able to communicate and work wonders to get Dave an email, a bank account and a meal train until we can get to step 2! We have provided Dave with some money to get him by for this weekend and we are hoping to raise enough for a small pickup truck and a trailer because all he wants is just a small bit so he can be back on what was originally his mother’s property.
Western Ranch was kind enough to help with clothing and pet supplies to get him by for a little while, but he will need further assistance for the weeks and months to come.
Please consider donating to Dave to help him get back on his feet! If you are not comfortable donating on here we have created a Venmo account that will be ready to go 8/29.
(This is an updated page since he now has a bank account and an email address. He can now be the beneficiary, so he can receive funds directly. Thank you to his neighbor Cathy who has been helping Dave while going through her own struggles!)
