Support Myanmar
Donation protected
The military staged a coup and people are rising up. Every day the people take to the streets in peaceful protest, demanding democracy and calling out with the voice of the people.
We are supporting the Civil Disobedience Movement and their need for supplies and support. In order to maintain and sustain, they need:
+ Salary support to pay rent and provide or families. Currently, the general strike is having an impact but folks on the ground need support.
+ Helmets to fend off attacks by military, police, and pro-military groups,
+ Gas masks and respirators
+ Food
In Myanmar, a little goes a long way.
Our Target is to support 200 University Students and activists (and families)
These organizers can then support and impact thousands.
Transparency:
Money will be funneled directly to a partner in Myanmar and distributed in cash to organizers. Banks and normal methods of support have been shut down. Also, cash payment enables money to get to source without military tracking and shutting down digital transfers.
Due to the arrests, violence, and investigations our specific partners will need to remain anonymous. However, accountability and transparency is crucial. We will be posting totals, monies, and transfers and working to identify a public org that can help with oversight.
The organization helping is run by someone I personally have known and who has done work in Myanmar for years. They are accountable and known to many in the faith and community organizing world of Myanmar. When we are able to publish info, we will.
