A murderer attacked 4 showgirls in Las Vegas on October 4th.
He took the life of one, hospitalized 2 others, permanently traumatized a family of women, and inadvertently endangered one of the most amazing Opportunities for women in Las Vegas!
I am the costume designer that makes the vintage Vegas costumes, The girls pose for souvenir photos. My company is Best Showgirls in Vegas. Maris the woman murdered was a dear friend, an incredible woman, wife, daughter and light in the world, Our loss is unmeasurable. The other three victims, like daughters to me, cherished and loved. I managed to raise $8700 apiece for the girls who survived, with a separate go fund me. All funds went directly to them. I was incredibly thankful to be able to help them buy a little time to heal. However their lives and ability to support themselves is not all this murderer stole, now I and my entire family of girls are fighting to save this business. Many girls will never overcome their fears to work again. I cannot understate what a loss this opportunity is for these beautiful girls. For us who have courage to continue (aside from the fact that most of us have no choice, as our bills mount), the future is uncertain. This business we share is an incredible network of women, where all decisions are made as a collective! There is no “boss” We are a team. Every woman is responsible for making all her own decisions. From when to work, where to work, what to wear, what to say, who to interact with, entirely at their discretion. Our home is a beautiful sanctuary, a safe place, where they can replenish, escape the world, be consoled by their sisters, where birthdays and life achievements are celebrated. A place where these women are taught how to be their own boss, how to run a business for themselves. To experience the opportunity to celebrate their beauty, to represent our city, with class and dignity, modeling for souvenir photos for tourists from around the world.

I am profoundly proud of the work that I have done, I am incredibly proud of the space that I have created for every woman that I have had the opportunity to share my costumes with. This company has been a shining example of entrepreneurial excellence, and many times the only family some of them have.
I am working as fast and hard as I can to get our doors open, I am confident I can do so, but I am quickly burning through everything I have worked so hard to save.
Me and these beautiful women didn’t deserve to have our lives damaged and our ability to provide for ourselves and families is literally everything for us.
