Fire Relief for Pete and Desi Durkin
Donation protected
Last night on 12/14/17, our brother and sister-in-law lost their home, and all of their belongings, to a house fire. It’s a total loss. As most of you know, Pete has dedicated his adult life to serving and caring for others. He is a USMC, Desert Storm veteran, and a well respected police officer for the City of Oxford, OH. Thankfully, with the help of neighbors, they, and their beloved pets, escaped their home unharmed with just the clothes on their backs.
They are very humble and would never ask for help, especially during the holiday season. Even just $5 would make a world of difference in helping them back on their feet.
As for the pets, their 5 fur babies, they’re currently being cared for by the City of Oxford PD, but will need temporary shelter until a more permanent solution is found.
Here are a few words posted on the Oxford PD Facebook page about the Unsung Hero Award, given to Pete in Sept 2016. “Officer Durkin consistently goes the extra mile to serve and protect his community, while building relationships and trust. He is all about simple acts of kindness and working outside of traditional policing methods to help those in need. Congrats Officer Durkin!”.
Please find it in your heart to help Pete and Desi, two people who have helped so many.
If you are unable to donate through this site, we can collect donations and get it to them directly.
Thank you for your generosity.
Happy Holidays from our family to yours.
