Hunters Handicap Wheelchair Van
Donation protected
Hunter is my 13 year old son and he has Duechenne Muscular Dystrophy. He was able to walk until about age 10 but is in a power wheel chair now and his family is in need of a Wheel Chair van to transport him.
My name is Dave and I am Hunters dad. Hunter is my only child. I have been using a wheel chair lift and carrier on my old 2001 Toyota Pick up but with Hunters growth from the medications, and his progressive decline, doing the vehichle transfers are getting harder and harder, both on me and on him too. We are in a very real need of a handicap van. Hunter had his Make A Wish trip in 2013 where he asked to be an astronaut and MAW sent us all to Houston and gave him the experience of a lifetime. His mother and I strive to keep him engaged and involved in life, and the need for safe reliable transportation is needed. I work as a biomedical tech for a hospital and with all the cost and expenses I cannot afford a handicap van for my son. There are not transportation resources from MDA, Shriners, Alta Sierra, or anyplace else I can find. I am turning here for help in aquiring transportation for my favorite boy in the world. Anything you can donate will go directly into purchasing and equipping a van for Hunters use. Blessings and Thank you for your help.
