EMERGENCY! Cindy NEEDS an oxygen concentrator!

Hi. My name is Robin and I wouldn't be here if it weren't for this truly remarkable woman who saved my life last summer when I collapsed on my deck and quit breathing. It was Cindy Spencer, my dear friend and the person who gave loving hospice care to my dying mother, who'd dropped by to visit and sprang into action, yelling "NOT TODAY! NOT ON MY WATCH!". Cindy revived me with the sternum rub she learned from an EMT. Now it's Cindy who so desperately needs someone's help. Originally, I was trying to raise money to help Cindy to pay for dentures she's been saving for a long time for. But everything changed this week when she received devastating news - she was told her lung cancer has returned. Cindy only has one lung after losing the other one a couple of years ago. Now she's struggling to breathe again... and she desperately needs a portable oxygen concentrator! Sadly, this has become MUCH more important that dentures!

To say that Cindy hasn't had it easy is a massive understatement! Nothing she's been through has ever stopped her from being obsessed with helping others.

A couple of years ago two of her daughters died unexpectedly within 6 weeks of each other while she was battling lung cancer the first time and had to have one of her lungs removed. At the same time, she also had to have all of her teeth pulled and was given a HORRIBLE pair of ill-fitting dentures by medicare that she was never able to wear - so she hasn't had any teeth ever since then. Cindy's had 27 major surgeries throughout her life including multiple surgeries on her feet. She's in tremendous pain thanks to the physical repercussions from the loss of her lung, pain from "bone-on-bone" in one knee and "bone-on-bone"in her opposite hip - which surgeons now cannot fix due to her having only one lung - and now this new cancer diagnosis! If anyone deserved help, it's Cindy.

Cindy and I are bound in friendship by the fact that, like me, she is in constant intense pain, and that neither of us ever get more than an hour or two of sleep a night. Consequentially, Cindy and I frequently take turns giving each other pep talks during the night - reminding each other to stay strong when we both feel like we just can't go on.

And because of everything she's done for me and my mom, I've constantly wished that there were some way I could help her.

Cindy needs OXYGEN! She needs it fast!

I'm hoping that my friends (and friends of my friends) can help me help Cindy breathe. It won't bring back her beautiful daughters, or replace the missing lung that makes it so hard for her to breathe, or fix the "bone on bone" pain in her hip and knee. I might not be able to her her walk and stand, or sleep when the pain keeps her awake all night - but with the help of my wonderful friends, we can drastically improve what remains of this incredible woman's life by helping her get a good portable oxygen concentrator as quickly as we can.

Would you please help me help her by donating and sharing her story? Every little bit will help us reach our goal. Thank you so much.
