Party In The Park 2023

Hey friends

We at People's Pride Southampton are a UK charity that operates all year round in Southampton, UK. We are registered under charity number 1191841.

We offer all of the following services and more for free to the entire LGBTQ+ community, their family, friends, and allies.

• Outreach Stalls

• Support Services

• A Christmas meal on Christmas day for isolated folk

• An Accessible and Inclusive pride event that's built for all

• Social events

• Referrals to partners across the city

• Mental health support

• Support for parents of children that have just come out

• Voluntary work

• Youth drop-ins

• Adult social drop-ins

• and much more besides.

We operate without corporate funding, as we just like to help, and do not feel having huge corporates involved telling us what we can and cannot do will not help us to fulfill our work.

We do however take support from local businesses and also support local businesses, especially businesses that are working with, run by LGBTQ+ folk or allies of the community.

We finally launched Party in the Park in 2022 and are now raising funds for our 2023 event and we are asking for your help to keep the pinkwashing corporates out of pride.

We are working hard to make 2023's event even more accessible than 2022's event and as well as knowing that there is a cost of living crisis, we have also managed to keep a massive percentage of the activities on-site free too.

As you can see with all of that being free to all, and without commercial sponsorship, we now need the amazing community and our allies to help us finish off, we have raised over £10,000 without one bit of corporate sponsorship, we now need some help to get across the line for the final £9,000!

We have no intention of ever charging for this event nor our march unlike some other events, but now we need your help to help us get this over the line.

Anything over the target will be used to continue operating the charity all year round.

We would like to make it clear no one on our committee nor any of our trustees are paid for any role in our Charity.

So every penny goes straight back into running fully accessible events, and services for the community.
