Please Help 18-Year-Old Peyton Sullivan Recover

Peyton Sullivan, 18, took a tragic fall on March 15, 2022. He fell 20 feet to the ground in a work accident, and heavy equipment landed on top of him. Peyton's adult life was just starting. He is enrolled in college with a dream to become an engineer. Much of the impact was to his face and arm, and as a result, he has suffered a brain injury, a broken mandible, and a broken arm. The injury affected the right part of his brain, which controls the left side of his body. He has lost a significant amount of his ability to control his left side on command, although he has moved it some. He had plates and screws inserted into his arm and mouth, which are recovering very well. Three weeks and three long days later, on April 8th, Peyton spoke for the first time and has also shown some progress in manipulating his left side. He still has a long and challenging road ahead of him, but the support he and the family have received has made the healing process as good as can be expected under the circumstances.
Peyton was initially treated at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina, where he received great care for more than three weeks. He has since been transported to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, where he is expected to spend anywhere between several weeks and a couple of months in rehabilitation.
His mom and dad both live in Charleston but are traveling to Atlanta to stay with Peyton several days at a time. After being there for only five days, they have already seen significant progress. The medical staff has reiterated many times that this kind of family support plays a vital role in Peyton's recovery.
With the sudden tragedy, we are trying to raise funds for Peyton and his family. The funds will be used towards expenses that are accrued during Payton's rehabilitation and any other things he may need.
Peyton is loved as a son, friend, and family member, with an overwhelmingly kind and caring soul. The longest days for us have been waiting for him to wake up, seeing his warm smile, and hearing his sweet voice. Thank God that has finally happened, but the road ahead is long. Thoughts and prayers have been very much appreciated. The family has expressed the following message, "We love each and every one of you for all of the kindness and prayers that we have received!"
As my life-long friend and brother-from-another-mother, this sudden tragedy and then standing bedside brought new feelings of despair and helplessness, realizing life is so fragile. I would never have imagined my friend in this position, and I know he would be right there, doing the same if it happened to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Peyton's accident and recovery. Please consider a contribution; any amount is appreciated!
