PHYTO Therapeutic Healing Center was founded in August of 2017, originally serving the community by offering therapeutic services such as yoga, meditation, qi kung, massage therapy, nutrition guidance, and strength and conditioning. Our focus then, and today, is to provide resources for people who are seeking to transition to a vegan (plant based) lifestyle. The PHYTO Family wholeheartedly believes in the benefits of a plant centered lifestyle for the health of the people, the planet and the animals, and it has always been our dream to create a vegan community resource center.
As of April 2019 my family and I found a commercial space to lease in the heart of Denver that will soon propel the PHYTO brand into an exciting new direction.
The building has two addresses. The main entry was an old Ethiopian restaurant that was rezoned for retail. So we decided to offer vegan convenience foods for the high traffic neighborhood to grab and go. We have local established vegan businesses who will be using our all-vegan commissary kitchen to vertically integrate almost 100% of our planned retail inventory. We plan to offer Vegan Softserve Ice cream, Kombucha on tap, Vegan Sushi,  and a wide variety of meat and dairy alternatives. And of course gifts and apparel for people and pets, all cruelty free!
The upstairs space (second address) is where we continue to offer therapeutic services. It has a space we utilize for yoga and other group exercise activities and community focused events. We have certified  vegan coaches offering cooking and lifestyle classes. Animal Rights meetups and Fundraisers for local animal sanctuaries. Vegan Entrepreneur meet-ups. Events for straight as well as LGBQT couples and singles. Movie nights. Live art classes. And of course tons of amazing Vegan Pop Up brunches, lunches, dinners and special events! See attached link for some of our past guest chefs who are doing amazing things at PHYTO with the Denver Vegan Food Scene.
We love supporting vegan businesses and all of our efforts are to continue to nurture the relationships within the community who also want see the world continue to evolve into a more caring and compassionate planet.  However it has not been an easy road travelled and we are now reaching out for support.
PHYTO’s retail space was scheduled to open in June of 2019. Several unforeseen circumstances that are out of our control have prevented us from officially opening our retail store. We had to have the sewage system replaced due to old roots obstructing sewage passage. We had countless plumbing leaks from the building being vacant through the winter and pipes freezing. And lots and lots of general cleaning, painting and repair of a neglected building.  We knew what we were getting into, but could not resist the prime location and charm of the building and decided to move forward with the lease agreement. We were pretty relieved once we completed our project 100% on budget without a dime to spare. Our family’s hard-earned entire life savings of roughly 60k. Investing it all in a dream to better serve the immediate and global community.
Here’s where it gets troublesome. The city of Denver has an incredibly long list of steps to follow before opening a business in Denver county.  We have passed all our inspections, yet we are still going through what the city calls a “Plan Review”.  We unexpectedly had to hire architects and engineers to draw details of our plumbing, electrical, HVAC and fire safety plan at the city’s request, all of which was an unexpected 10k.  The review which was officially submitted after the architectural drawings were completed on October 31st can take up to 14 weeks before being approved. And because of the delayed opening no money is coming in. We are currently 3 months behind in rent and bills continue piling up. We believe we are close to the reviews completion after corresponding with the city but we also are currently close to being evicted and are without any capital for inventory.
If you align with our vision here’s how you can help. By making a donation your money will go towards our 3 months back rent, and 3 months post rent while we wait for the city to complete its review. 10k to pay back the personal loan acquired for the architectural drawings and the remaining for permit fees and inventory.
We are also seeking capital venturists who would like to invest in one of the fastest growing food sectors in history! And see our concept in every major city around the world.
We are also open to synergistic partnerships that complement our efforts.

Thank you for your time, energy and caring interest.
