Please Help our Mom and Family

My mom, Zara Griswold, is currently suffering from aggressive stage 4 ovarian cancer. Zara Griswold, mother of my twin brother and me, as well as wife of Mike Griswold has dealt with this invasive disease for almost 13 years now. When I was just 7 years old, my mom had a reoccurrence of her ovarian cancer underneath her tailbone. Unfortunately this meant the tumor was inoperable. For 12 years my mom fought hard while on different clinical trails and chemo treatments, when an accident happened in the spring of 2022 and we discovered the tumor had spread up her spine and to her brain.  In June of 2022, my mom was given six months to a year to live and fortunately, she is still fighting, even through excruciating amounts of pain. This news was devastating, I never imagined this happening in my worst nightmare. While bearing this harsh diagnosis, my mom ended up breaking her left femur, as well as her right hip. This altered her healing intensely and led her to lose over half her body weight, as well as leave her completely immobile. This diagnosis is extremely hard for our family. My mom has always been the glue of our family, providing positivity and inspiration to all who know her. My mom has demonstrated true selflessness my whole life and continues to inspire my family and I everyday.  With her current state of health, she is unable to work. Working with her surrogacy agency is my moms passion, all she wants to do is help as many people as she can. She dedicated her life to help create families so others could feel the joy she has. This leaves my father to provide for the three of us, as well as fund 2 college tuitions. This situation has also put me in a position to be one of her primary caretakers, dressing a wound on her back, and feeding her. While this summer I am also working 2 jobs to pay for college expenses. On top of these financial stressors, the out of pocket medical expenses are outrageous and much more than I would’ve ever expected. No amount is too small and everything will help. My dad, Mike is trying to stay strong for my brother and I but he needs help from his community. I am trying to relieve some of the financial stress for my father as he navigates this extremely tough road of being the only provider for our family. Unfortunately this situation has led to immense financial hardships due to out of pocket medical expenses. The supplies needed in order to care for my mom adds up to outrageous amounts of money.  I truly believe my mom can heal and I need my community to join me in my hopefulness. By donating you will be helping us keep my mom alive and being cared for in the best way possible, as well as relieve stress from my father who is facing the reality of being the main caregiver while maintaining his job. My brother and me simply cannot imagine a life without our mother, and we need help from our community. Any amount will go a long way and my family and I will be so grateful to have some of the financial stressors relieved.
