Please help us to get to the RDA National Championships
Donation protected
Update. 4th June 2024
Hello everyone. Sadly I will not be able to take Quinn to the nationals as he has an abscess in one of his hooves and he is extremely lame.
I have contacted go fund me to request refunds for all donations.
I’m obviously disappointed but the health of Quinn is paramount. Now I need to see if I can borrow a horse for the nationals. Thank you again for all who donated and hopefully your refunds will be through soon
Hi. My name is Sheila, I’m a disabled horse rider and I’m fundraising to get to Hartpury to take part in the RDA National Championships in July.
Yesterday, Sunday 26th May I took part at the RDA regional Championships in both dressage and Countryside Challenge. RDA is the Riding for Disabled Association. I scored high enough and gained first places in my 2 qualifying events which means I’ve qualified to take part at the RDA National Championships at Hartpury in Gloucester from 12th to 14th July. I am the only rider from Midlothian and representing Thornton Rose RDA with my share horse Quinn who is affiliated to the group. This is the first time for me taking my own horse to the Nationals as previously I had to borrow horses at the event which put me at a disadvantage for those who rode their own horses. I’m hoping that by taking Quinn we’ll hopefully bring home a rosetts or two. But it’s not cheap to get there. Costs include transport hire, fuel, accommodation for grooms, entry fees and stabling for Quinn.
I am hoping the community can get behind me and support me. The minimum I’m looking to raise is £1500 through go fund me and other fundraising. Please if you can spare a little cash it would mean the world to me to take part down in Hartpury with Quinn. Thank you
