Prayers and Support for Kinsley (Will and Jade Johnson)

Donation protected
Meet the Johnsons. Will and Jade (mom/dad), Kinsley (12), Brynlee (9), and Breckett (2). Kinsley, oldest daughter, started having strokes when she was 4 years old. This brought them to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. She was diagnosed with "progression of the cerebral proliferative antipathy, with volume loss of the heft hemisphere". She had to have a lumbar peritoneal shunt inserted at that time. Kinsley underwent multiple brain surgeries and shunt revisions. On her 5th birthday she had her first major stroke that paralyzed her right side. She had to re-learn to walk and talk. They have had many stays at TCH during the years of 2015-2018. In June of last year Kinsley had a brain bleed.
This past December she started a new medication that would hopefully stop the abnormal blood vessel growth, but after the fourth day on the med she became extremely tired, weak and not able to walk. We contacted our doctor in Houston and asked what to do. This was not our Kinsley...her condition was getting worse.
She was on a seizure med already, so they stopped the new med and she improved some. As she slowly improved she began the new med which led to a repeat of the earlier symptoms, i.e. not walking, fatigue, hardly able to move arms, legs, or speak. We came back to TCH to undergo MRIs, CTs, Bloodwork, MG testing and angiogram. The tests showed that her affected side of the brain is stealing too much blood from the good side.
Where is our journey now? At this time we are at TCH for the 6th week waiting on conclusions from a Neurosurgeons meeting at their nation wide vascular conference. Kinsley's case if being reviewed and discussed to see if surgery is an option. Currently she undergoes intense therapy. She has days of pain. She has lost the ability to hold her head in place. We feed her, change her, bathe her because she can't do these on her own. The Rehab specialists are doing an amazing job at working with her to help her try to move. Special equipment is being ordered to help with her care.
What we ask from you is lots of prayer! Pray for wisdom and solutions as the doctors meet and make recommendations. Any funds raised for Kinsley will be used for her medical expenses. We have been very blessed with family and friends who have ministered to us in this time of need. God Bless you all.
