Prayers for Pedro

Komi, better known as Pedro was in a devastating accident on the first weekend of summer break before his senior year, leaving him critically ill on the ventilator. Pedro was being a typical teenage boy and nearly drowned while swimming with his friends. Despite multiple valiant attempts at rescue by his friends, their efforts were unsuccessful, and Pedro was underwater without oxygen for nearly 30 minutes before the dive team was able to recover him. At this time it is unknown how long he will require hospitalization, or the extent of his injuries. Pedro and his Dad are the only family in the United States, while the rest of his family, including his Mom and siblings are home in Togo. Both Pedro and his father work full time to support themselves here in Omaha, and his family in Togo. Pedro is a great kid, spending his time in the gym training for soccer and wrestling, working at Taco Bell, and doing his best to help his father provide a good life for his family back home.
