On Oct 3, 2020 the Lopez family were shaken with devastating news no family would ever expect or want to hear. Gina a mother of two and beloved wife had been experiencing non-stop headaches in the recent months. She also noticed that her lymph nodes felt swollen on her neck. Her doctor prescribed antibiotics but her condition did not improve. Blood tests then followed and ruled out the root cause of all her symptoms.... the diagnosis: AML LEUKEMIA.
Never in a million years would any of us have expected this type of diagnosis but she wanted to share her story in hope that it may someday help save someone else's life by spreading awareness. We also want to give this family all the support they need during this difficult time.
At this moment Gina will remain hospitalized while she undergoes Chemotherapy. This phase of Chemotherapy and treatment will take 6months as she also will also need a Bone marrow transplant. Her two siblings are potential donors and will need to travel to the US from Colombia in order to determine which of the two is the best possible match.
Gina is receiving medical treatment at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey and is in the best of care. Although there are critical aspects of longer-term care, including alternative and integrative therapies, we hope that she will never have to worry about the overwhelming costs of medical treatments, bills etc... we just want her and her family to focus on her remission and healing. All donations made will go to supply her and her family's need in this season, medically and at home.
Right now we are all praying and asking for hope and help. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will definitely help alleviate some of the financial burden upon this family.

El 3 de octubre de 2020, la familia López se vio sacudida por una noticia devastadora que ninguna familia esperaría o querría escuchar. Gina, madre de dos hijos y amada esposa, había estado experimentando dolores de cabeza sin parar en los últimos meses. También notó que sus ganglios linfáticos se sentían hinchados en su cuello. Su médico le recetó antibióticos, pero su estado no mejoró. Luego se realizaron análisis de sangre y se descartó la causa raíz de todos sus síntomas ... el diagnóstico: LEUCEMIA AML.
Nunca en un millón de años ninguno de nosotros hubiera esperado este tipo de diagnóstico, pero ella quería compartir su historia con la esperanza de que algún día pueda ayudar a salvar la vida de otra persona al difundir la conciencia. También queremos brindar a esta familia todo el apoyo que necesitan durante este momento difícil.
En este momento Gina permanecerá hospitalizada mientras se somete a Quimioterapia. Esta fase de quimioterapia y tratamiento durará 6 meses, ya que también necesitará un trasplante de médula ósea. Sus dos hermanos son donantes potenciales y deberán viajar a los EE. UU. Desde Colombia para determinar cuál de los dos es la mejor pareja posible.
Gina está recibiendo tratamiento médico en Morristown Medical Center en Nueva Jersey y está en la mejor atención. Aunque existen aspectos críticos de la atención a más largo plazo, incluidas las terapias alternativas e integradoras, esperamos que nunca tenga que preocuparse por los abrumadores costos de los tratamientos médicos, facturas, etc., solo queremos que ella y su familia se concentren en ella. remisión y curación.
