Precious in Pink: Rising up from the ashes

On Friday morning, 01/19/2024, at 4:15 AM my mother woke up to billowing black smoke and tall, bright red flames that were engulfing the house to turn into ash. Tragically, my mother and the other women lost everything they owned and pictures/items connected to lost loved ones that are irreplaceable, however, by the grace of God all of the women in the home made it out without injuries or loss of life. This home was/is responsible for housing these amazing women who are working hard on themselves through the program established by Precious in Pink in Hernando, MS (director: Anne Lunceford, assistant: Juli Boren) that provides this ministry for women, as well as, a shelter to provide an opportunity for the women to have a second chance at a life they’ve always wanted after being released from prison, jail, and/or rehab facilities with Christ being the center focus of their mission. We have not yet determined the cause of the fire, but the fire marshals are working hard and diligently to provide an answer. Thankfully, we have had help from the community so far, but it’s going to be a long road ahead for the rebuild, replacing damaged/ruined items, and working through the trauma of the event and I ask you for your help with making this process become a reality that isn’t out of reach for these ladies! If you cannot donate physical items, but would like to help to some degree, I have organized this GoFundMe for their nonprofit organization Precious in Pink for any monetary donations you may be able to provide at this time. Also, they are accepting gift card donations for Walmart and stores like this as another form of donation if this is a preferred method or if you have gift cards handy you’re not using that can be donated; if you still want to help and cannot donate monetarily, physical items, etc. we will always welcome prayers! These ladies are currently staying at Gale Community Center in Hernando, MS 38632 as they have graciously offered temporary housing so if you’d like to drop off physical donations or gift cards or even to pray over/with these amazing women, this is the place to go until instructed otherwise. I know they will be forever grateful for any help or prayers you and the community have to offer.
