Friends of the Broken Arrow Community Playhouse. We have just been informed that due to the Government shutdown and the furlough of the employees of the National Endowment for the Arts, we will not be receiving our mid-year Grant money. The payment of our mid-year Grant allotment has been postponed for an indeterminate period of time, until the Government shutdown ends and the furloughed NEA employees work through their backlog. This time of year is a lean time financially in any year, but particularly so this year due to our Playhouse improvements and planning for our upcoming 40th Anniversary Season. We usually use the mid-year grant funds to pay the required prepayment of Licenses and Deposits for our 2019/2020 season. We are currently unable to continue with any Playhouse improvements or any of our Director Selection and Season Flyer announcements until we have secured the licensing for all the productions. The Playhouse is in dire need of funds, sooner rather than later if at all possible.
The Government shut down has affected so many people and institutions. The Arts are just one more on the list. If you have anything you can spare to donate to the Broken Arrow Community Playhouse at this time, it will be greatly appreciated!!
