Freelance photographer covering the Western Hemisphere and sometimes other parts of the world while pursuing personal documentary projects. As assignments work has declined, there is a need to find alternative ways to raise funds in order to continue doing independent photojournalism.
Many of the events I cover are in hazard areas where there is a need of protective gear, such as gas mask, Multi-Threat vest and a helmet, especially nowadays that the press has also been targeted. When covering conflict/war zones there is a greater probability of being reached by high caliber ammunition or shrapnel and high-level IV ceramic plates are needed for better protection.
My current gear is either expired or too worn, so I am reaching to those who feel like contributing.
I am on my way to cover the US Presidential Inauguration and after the January 6th events, which we all have seen now, there is a great need to be protected while covering this event as well as insurance.
I believe that the goal of a documentary photographer is to create images that can visually translate the reality one witnesses, using a critical eye and a mind full of ethics; the role of a photojournalist becomes more important when you hear the testimonies of the victims or witness the harm one human being causes another.
Your generosity goes a long way, when you donate you will help keep myself protected from any aggression or unfortunate attack as well as supporting the safety of a freelance photographer such as myself.
