Purchase a Van for a Grandmother in Need

Ms. Ruthie is a grandmother in her late 60s that has raised several children over the years. At this time she is helping to take care of three elementary school-aged children as well as one toddler. Although the three mentioned are the ones that she has on a regular basis, she does help take care of a baby fairly regularly.  Since the school bus will not pick up the school-aged kids at the residence, Ms. Ruthie has to take them down the road in the mornings and the afternoons for the school bus. Every afternoon, she sits in the dangerously hot sun in a small car that overheats, therefore she is unable to use the air conditioner.  She has been seen sitting in the back seat with the baby fanning them attempting to keep them cool enough while waiting for the bus to arrive. The car she is driving is an older model and too small for car seats as well as the three school-aged children.  After talking with Ms. Ruthie, she is unable to afford to make the necessary repairs to the vehicle and obviously unable to purchase a larger one.  This family has a need for a more reliable vehicle for transport of these precious children that has more room as well as cool air on these smoldering hot days. In doing some research, a reliable late 2000s to early 2010s model mini-van would cost around $9,500.00. If we reached a goal of $10,000.00, that would help to also take care of miscellaneous fees and any other expenses that may incur. Even when the goal is reached, continued donations would be greatly appreciated, as all proceeds with either go to Ms. Ruthie directly, or it will go towards something for her or the children.  I would like to get the funds together rather quickly because of the Georgia heat that she and the children are currently having to endure while riding or sitting in the hot car. At the time of writing this, it has been in the high 90's and low 100's with a heat index of high 100's. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. If enough come together, we can help this grandmother who has done so much for others and be a blessing to her in a time of need.

***For anyone wondering how the money is being handled, I am 15 yrs old which means I am unable to withdraw the funds myself. Therefore, I have set my mom, Julie Childers, as the beneficiary so that she can withdraw the money. Once the goal is reached, we will take the money and buy a suitable van and present it to Ms. Ruthie.***
