Susan's Dream

Hi my name is Jeremy Rajkowski. I set this fundraiser up because of the difficulties that we have been having over the last 5 years but especially the last year. Susan is such a wonderful women, my dearest friend, a mother of 2 (Elijah and stepson Preston), and the best thing that has happened in my life. We are so grateful to have such a supportive family that is loving and always there for us.
About 5 years ago things started to change in our life. We had lost our son Joshua and because he was 7 1/2 months old we had to go through a stillbirth. Then a little over a year later Susan had discovered that she had gotten cancer back the 2nd time after being a Survivor for about 10 years. After going through chemo and radiation she was deemed to be clear once again. Then less then 12 months later they had confirmed that the cancer was back and this time spread into her hip, lymph nodes, and her lungs which had made the cancer a stage 4 because of it spreading to numerous areas. She had went through more treatments of chemotherapy and then was able to stop after her rounds were all complete. Then a few months ago she was told the cancer is back and now has spread to her brain and spinal cord (in numerous spots). Susan had just finished the radiation treatments that they scheduled for her to try and eliminate the cancer that was found in her brain and in her spinal cord. After she had completed the radiation treatments she had gone in for a checkup and was told that the cancer is still their but did shrink some. Susan is unable to do any chemo because of her counts being to low. Her oncologist had just recently told us that her body is not being receptive to the treatment anymore so there is not much more that they can do other then the medication they have her take. The oncololigist also said that she may only live 6 more months and if things do not get worse maybe a year. When I had heard this I just thought this is the most devistating news I never want to hear. It is very hard to understand why things like this happens to people and when it is someone close to you it makes you appreciate all that they have done for you. It hurts me so bad to see Susan having to walk around with a walker and taking about 12 meds a day (some of them more then once). Susan has also started homecare a couple times a week. It was very hard to talk to the boys about what is going on with Susan and that she may not be with us much longer. Preston the oldest was saddend and our youngest Elijah just didn't understand what we were saying. I think when it happens he will understand a bit more because of his mommy not being around to hold him and comfort him the way he is used to.
I am asking for your help today because I want to enjoy the time our family has together while Susan is still here by going on a family vacation or two and helping with medical costs, food, other bills, and other family needs. I know that Susan wants to go on a trip to Mount Rushmore with the boys for sure.
Susan has been through such a rough life but we know that God is in control and by the grace of God and what Jesus had done for her and us we know that when we take our last breath on Earth that we will take our first breath in Heaven.
I would like to give a personnal thanks to all that are able to donate to this fundraiser and also to all the family and friends that support Susan and our family every day to help support us through this time of need.
