Reece Payne

Some of you will already be aware that my sister Carlie’s partner, Reece, recently lost his hard fought battle with cancer. To say we have all been devastated by this is an understatement. Reece has fought valiantly against this terrible disease since being diagnosed in December 2018. Since his diagnosis he was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Olivia (4) and Amelia (2) who he had doted on.

many of you will have followed Reece’s journey with bowel cancer and saw how hard he fought it through the years but for the majority, you wouldn’t have known. He was an outgoing, fun loving character who lit up a room and enjoyed all conversation, particularly if it was about rugby, bikes and cars… it was an absolute privilege to call him my brother in law and to see how happy he made my sister and nieces.

Not only has this left a huge gaping hole in the family but as you can imagine, it also puts financial pressures on Carlie and the girls. Carlie has had to take considerable amounts of time away from her work as a nurse to care for Reece and the girls through his treatments. If there is one last thing I can do for Reece it’s to ensure that his family are supported and they can grieve without the worry of keeping up with mortgage payments, bills and costs of living.
