Refugee Solidarity South SE
Refugee Solidarity South East started as a WhatsApp group for people wanting to help support Lewisham’s refugee community at this difficult time. In just two weeks we have grown to 500 members. We have sourced and delivered donations of laptops and phones to families in the area. We are now delivering food packages directly to families and individuals and distributing food through partner organisations Lewisham and Refugee Migrant Network, LewCAS, Southwark Refugee Day Centre and World for Hope. Also working with AFRIL, Feed the Hill, Lewisham Refugee Welcome, Ray Woolford Food bank, The Catford Community Fridge, Refugee Cafe and The Field/Pie and Mash Mutual Aid Project we are supporting relationships between organisations, community groups and individuals who want to help.
At a time when many of the charities people rely on are struggling or having to close their doors we are raising funds for the much-needed work of local South East organisations. This is the time for local and global solidarity and connection, so we are also raising funds for grassroot, volunteer led projects in refugee camps across Europe and beyond.
We want to do more, and we need your help to do it! Our biggest strength is our connection.
