Replace my stolen sewing machines!
Donation protected
All three of my sewing machines I had custom built into my caravan were recently stolen! I have been experiencing so much personal drama recently and was really looking forward to a time of stability where I could jump back into my mobile studio and sew up a bunch of new samples for my new sustainability initiative that I have been collecting for over 3 years.. now, I cant do that!!
the machines I will need to replace are;
* walking foot industrial - this is a heavy duty industrial (tuff boii!) and handles leather and heavy duty fabrics, it’s pretty cool when it sews, the foot looks a bit like it’s galloping over the leather!
* lockstitch industrial - this is your usual straight stitch sewing machine.. for the usual type of sewing basic lines of stitching.
* coverstitch industrial - this one does the hems, elastic adding, binding edges.. if you look at the hem on your tshirts, that folded over bit and the overlock/serged type stitching underneath with twin stitching ontop? That.’s coverstitch :) a fairly essential machine for anyone working in stretchwear.
LUCKILY, my newest purchased sewing machine, a JUKI overlocker/serger is safe at my house. I really like the brand JUKI and they are the industry gold standard.. less issues and have parts available easily. If possible it would be nice to stick to the same brand for ease of access. My fundraising goal of $2500 would help to cover the cost of almost all three machines (the most important being the coverstitch and lockstitch machines) if I were to buy JUKI brand machines at a second hand price point.
