Rest For Our Responders
The purpose of this non-profit is to build a secluded and safe respite for first responders and their families who are dealing with mental health issues. These responders are our neighbours, our friends, and some even family and they are human too, just like the rest of us. They need time to REST, relax, recover and learn resilience skills which will support them in both their personal and professional lives.
When they are struggling whether it be at work or home, they often have nowhere to turn. They can’t call for help... they are the help. And that’s where we come in. We, as in you and I, because we can’t do this without you, our community.
These first responders give their lives selflessly each and every day for us and now it’s our turn to give a little back and help those who’ve helped us so much.
We, River Valley Resilience Retreat, are looking to raise money for the construction of our first lodge on the RVRR property. This lodge will serve as a safe meeting place for our heroes and their families to heal while learning crucial resilience skills needed for a successful and healthy life, both at home and work.
They need you more than ever before. Please help if you can.
Donate, share, tell a friend, or even reach out to a first responder if you know one and let them know we’re here for them and their loved ones. After all, we’re all in this together.

Furthermore, there have been several questions and concerns about the GoFundMe not being listed as a Charity and having Michelle McKeaveney as the beneficiary. She is one of the founders of this nonprofit organization and when the GoFundMe was created on our behalf by a volunteer wanting to help out, the RVRR was not yet recognized by the GoFundMe team as a nonprofit/ charity and therefore he created it under Michelle’s name. All donations go directly into the Conexus restaresponder account. If you do not feel comfortable with making a donation to GoFundMe there is also the option to go into Kennedy’s Animal Nutrition Centre and speak with Tara and she will be able to write you a charitable receipt or etransfer to [email redacted]
We are hoping to open a GoFundMe Charity in the future once given the go ahead by the GoFundMe team.
Thanks to all those who have generously donated and helped in getting this retreat off the ground. Your donation no matter how big or small will impact the lives of many first responders and their families in the years to come!
Please keep helping us spread the word.
