Restore the George Floyd Mural in Lansing

Donation protected
Earlier this week, the George Floyd mural on Lansing's River Trail was defaced. The Flint-based artist Isiah Lattimore, who has contributed several murals to the Lansing cityscape, is graciously willing to restore the piece, though it would mean missing work, additional supply costs, and the cost of the commute. This campaign aims to alleviate the financial burden from the artist. This vandalism is an affront to the unity our city is fighting to achieve. Let's send a message that this is bigger than a mural. This line of white spray paint embodies an ideal that is not welcome here. We are a strong community that is ready to step up and change the status quo by making this kind of nonsense unacceptable. No lives matter until Black lives matter. Additional funds raised will be allocated to additional Lansing public art.
