Our sister lives a simple life. She lives in a very modest home in a small community. She has a husband who works full time, and she has cared for her children, as well as many others in the neighborhood. She is a frequent volunteer and very involved in the community. She is the one you can always count on being there to help with anything you need.
Her husband got sick. He went through several procedures and many trial medications to treat his condition which was recently labeled as sarcoidosis. He has nodules in his lungs that decrease his lung capacity, making it difficult to breath, causing a lack of oxygen, which causes severe headaches and fatigue.
Through all of this, her husband continued to work, as his was the only income supporting the family. His income covers their monthly needs, but the added medical bills from the investigation of his condition created financial stress for their family. Our sister decided she needed to get a part time job to help cover the added expense. She started her new position just last week.
Their 15-year-old daughter just started high school and is on the high school drill team.
On Friday, our niece was experiencing severe back pain. Thinking that she may have appendicitis or kidney stones, our sister took our niece to the Emergency Room only to find out after a weekend in the ICU, a surgical biopsy and an exhausting weekend of what is more than most people would be able to shoulder, that her 15-year-old daughter has a tumor. That tumor ruptured during the biopsy, and our niece will need to be observed in the ICU for at least an additional three days before starting treatment for lymphoma, a childhood form of cancer.
That is why we ask you to please donate to this amazing family who has supported so many people, and would never expect anything in return.
Wether you are able to donate or not, please keep all of them in your thoughts and prayers.
