Mariam Ramadan is a 16 year old junior at Claremont Highschool, a sister , a daughter, and a friend to so many. A few weeks ago on October 15th 2017, her life changed. Mariam was found by her brother (Omar Adam) and her mom having a seizure early in the morning. After a 911 call and CT scan at San Antonio hospital, it was found that she had a brain tumor. Only two days later Mariam was at Loma Linda Children's Hospital having brain surgery to remove and biopsy what they could. The surgeons were able to safely remove only half of Mariam's tumor because the other half was too deep in the brain and would've been too dangerous to remove. Two days ago we recieved the diagnosis, undecided grade 3/4 anaplastic astrocytoma (cancer). We are devastated by Mariam's diagnosis and want to be able to provide her with all the love and support possible. In the near future Mariam is going to be starting six weeks of monday-friday radiation, along with daily chemotherapy. Shortly after that she will be starting a years worth of a three drug chemotherapy. Unfortunately all of this means Mariam wont be able to return to school and she will have to be homeschooled. The most important thing for Mariam right now is the round the clock care from her mother, especially because she must be with someone at all times in case of another seizure. We are setting up this page to help with any of Mariam's medical expenses and to allow her mother the necessary time to spend with her and take care of her. Please share, and please donate. Thank you!
