Roxanne needs help with medical costs

My sister Roxanne recently moved to Valle de Anton in Panama and she just had a medical emergency. She had sharp chest pain, which radiated to her neck and left arm. Breathing and eating was excruciating. She needed to go to the hospital urgently in Panama City on September 23, 2022.

Roxanne has liquid in her lungs and around her heart and her oxygen is low. The Doctors are still trying to determine the exact cause: Covid? (she had her 2 Covid vaccines and booster) Pneumonia? Complication from her Hiatal Hernia? Roxanne is on oxygen, pain medication and anti-inflammatory and they are trying to get rid of the liquid in her lungs and around her heart. So far, it's estimated that she will be in the hospital for 5 to 7 days, depending on the test results. And the recovery period at home will take weeks or months. That’s what we know so far. I will post updates as we know more.

As long as Roxanne is sick in hospital and after, when she will be recovering at home, she has no income. She has no medical insurance. She was in the process of getting medical insurance quotes from different health insurance companies in Panama when this sudden medical emergency happened. Without medical insurance, Roxanne cannot afford the hospital bills and expenses.

The money raised will be used to pay her medical bills and expenses and allow her to recuperate at home once she is discharged from the hospital.

I am doing this GoFundMe campaign (my first ever, I’ve never done this before) to help my sister Roxanne get back on her feet and to relieve her financial stress so she can focus on her health and get well soon. Roxanne is independent and proud and has always accomplished most things in life by herself. It's hard for her to let me do this campaign and go public with it. But I know a lot of people love and care for Roxanne and would be happy to help.

I am in Canada and unable to be by my sister’s side in Panama. It’s hard for me to be so far and worry. Fortunately, Roxanne has a caring friend with a big heart and soul by her side day and night.
