Ryan Is now at Harborview in the burn ICU
Saturday night we left the ER with a prescription for anti-nausea medication and the instructions that he drink plenty of water and get rest, after he complained of having severe episodes of the flu.
By Monday morning I found him on the bathroom floor unable to help me in anyway to get him off the ground. He seemed to be paralyzed from the waist down. How long did he lay there? I don’t know.
Once in the ER, it was determined that he was in multi organ failure. Guillain-Baree’? Septic shock? Group Strep A? We will never know because they gave him antibiotics before they took his blood. But all these things are things they are thinking he has and are giving him medication for. His lungs are not working. He is on a vent to later. His kidneys are not working. He is on hemodialysis. His heart is not working. He is on vasopressors to increase perfusion to his organs. According to lab tests his liver is in failure as well.
Among all of this today is his birthday. Praise Jesus they have taken him off sedation and we are now waiting for him to wake up. They tell us that I could take hours or days for this to happen and to just be patient.
Thank you Church members, family, and friends who have come by to celebrate his life with me today and say a prayer as we continue to trust God.
Ryan and I both work to provide for our six children. His, mine, and ours! I am currently applying for FMLA. Ryan is indisposed for the time being and for the near foreseeable future. We have a tough road ahead. I’ve started this go fund me to alleviate the financial stress of this long journey. Medical expenses, lost wages, cost of meals at the hospital etc. We need all the support and prayers we can get.
At this time we are being told that doctors are cautiously optimistic. Ryan will most likely need to go to a rehab once our journey here is done. Please pray for our family is this time of need.
