Dominica Hurricane Relief
Donation protected
I am reaching out to help the people of the hurricane stricken island of Dominica. I was born and grew up on this Caribbean island, and want to do my part to help the people recuperate from the total devestation left behind by Hurricane Maria. With all the attention on Houston, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, the island will get little aid from other countries, and I am asking for support to help these wonderful people rebuild their lives. I will insure the funds are spent in the best way, even if it means going there myself to oversee the distribution. My gratitude will be overcome by the people whose lives will be mended and changed forever. Thank you for your generosity.
As an update, I have been in communication with several people I know on the island and have established that I am going to work on the schools in the village of Soufriere and Scotts Head that were both devestated. Schools have not been able to open and yet there are efforts by the teachers to get the kids together in tents and work with them. I will be working with Simon Walsh, a resident of Soufriere, who has already brought boatloads of supplies to the village from the neighboring island of St. Lucia. We will be focusing on building supplies to get the schools reopen, and text books etc. Once that has been established and Simon has ordered and recieved the supplies, I will go down there to help get it organized. That probably wont be for at least another month but I will keep all of you kind donors updated. Thanks again.
