All Jody Stafford 's life he has given to the people around him. He has served in Public Service for over 35 years as Firefighter, Paramedic and Police Officer. Most recently as Paramedic for Evans Co..... As one of the strongest people you will ever know, he deals with what life throws at him like a champ.
This pass Easter Sunday, April 17th, Jody began having severe stomach pains. He was due to be on shift that morning. He had the responsibility of showing up or someone else would have to change their Easter plans, and he didn't want that to happen. He showed up to work feeling a little better but by that evening the pain had become unbearable. He was taken to the ER by his coworkers. It was there when the Dr. advised of needing Emergency surgery. Jody was rushed to Memorial Health UMC in Savannah. He was told diverticulitis inflammation has caused intestines to burst. He was so close to sepsis. Doctors rushed to clean all the infection from his abdomen. They also had to remove a section of intestines. He is now on the road to recovery but it will be long.
Insurance covers some of the medical procedures and hospital stay but leaves many of medical and personal expenses unpaid. Any donations would be very appreciated to alleviate the financial stress while healing. Thank you.
