The Sandra-Boots Caregiving Legacy Fund will assist with Sandra McGee’s final burial expenses and support the ongoing care needed for her living mother ‘Boots’.

Here’s why you may care to help: Whether you were a friend, colleague, former student, family or community member, if you were blessed to know Sandra, you knew she was an angel on earth long before she became one in Heaven as of the twelfth of May 2024.

After all, this joyful and passionate San Francisco Bay Area native, suddenly stricken by late-diagnosed cancer, had generously and lovingly devoted her whole life to helping humanity. One example?

For over two decades, Sandra helped thousands of students as an academic counselor and Extended Opportunity Program & Services coordinator at Laney College in Oakland. She passionately guided and supported each and every one towards their specific professional endeavor. No doubt, her kindness inspired many of those grateful students to pay it forward throughout their own lives.

Even after retiring in 2022, Sandra didn't stop pursuing her life’s purpose of giving. She now focused her care and attention along with her devoted husband Zef Amen, on her 93-year-old mother, 'Boots,' who has needed continuous in-home assistance for over a decade and still does.

All this is why Sandra’s family is reaching out to you now, requesting your contribution to the Sandra-Boots Caregiving Legacy Fund—a heart-driven and soulful fund dedicated to securing the $26,369 needed for her funeral and burial costs, and to extending her legacy of helping others by providing the long-term in – home caregiving needed by her beautiful, loving mom.
