Save Bell from euthanasia

My family and I have had a rough year. My father was diagnosed with cancer and could no longer provide for us, while retirement funds were painfully slow coming. We relied on the support of the rest of our family and GoFundMe donors who stood up to offer us both aid and comfort, and with the New Year, it seems the diagnosis has been cancer free! But we are only now recovering financially and it's going to be a long trip. So once again, I implore you for help. We need your support again to save this stray from death.

We have fed her, and had her spayed, but it's difficult to ignore the elephant in the room. Bell has a sizable tumor on her front right leg, and there's nothing we can do to help her. The smell is horrible and we've tried cleaning and washing the area to disinfect it, but there's not much else we can do to improve her health. We've tried to reach out to various organizations with no luck, the tumor is too large and would be too expensive for them considering removal. Although she shows very slight outward signs of pain I cannot imagine the suffering she must be going through in this current state. The area bleeds occasionally and becomes infected, and we have to try and get her to allow us to wash and clean the area again, which is no easy task for a both easily startled and water aversion feline!



But we know what we have to do soon. Without funds Bell will need to be euthanized. The only humane option.

Unless we can raise enough funds for amputation.

Amputation isn't easy. But animals adapt well to the situation, my dog, who was around ten at the time he had invasive cancer discovered in his front leg, continued to live to the ripe age of fourteen, an age he wouldn't have lived to be if we hadn't of had the amputation done. And let me tell you, he could run! With my Dad's success, and thinking back on my own dog Poochy, I want to be able to help Bell. And by chance we can do this, I want to have her be adopted into a good home. We would foster her! She's a sweet and gorgeous cat and I know she would be readily adopted if it wasn't for the tumor.

Why is the price I have higher than the cost of surgery? I have a higher price than the cost of surgery to cover transportation costs to Texas A&M, the best veterinary center we can think of and the same one my dog went to many years ago. But the distance from us to there is considerable. We will also need to cover the costs of prescriptions and an outdoor enclosed cat home as we have pet birds indoors. There are several good variety outdoor cat enclosures for around three-hundred dollars we've found, such as the Boomer & George Outdoor Cat Home, but we will need to do more research so we can find one we can keep sterile for after surgery. This will cover the costs of other vaccinations and anything else she may need during or after surgery. After we have raised 2,000, the minimum for an amputation like this, we will begin the process of prepping for surgery and I will periodically update this page with news on what is going on.
