Save Baby Tondo

Yesterday I found out that my friend’s baby brother, little Tondo, just out of hospital, is sick again. This picture was taken 6 months ago. He is now severely underweight, and his mother too.

My friend’s family have said “it’s in God’s hands now” because there’s nothing more they can do. They are out of resources. They are heartbroken.

They can’t afford to pay the hospital for the baby and mother. And they shouldn’t really need hospital—their main health problem is one of the simplest in the world: malnutrition.

They need food which they can't afford, and supplements. We raised some for them, but the supplements have finished, there’s no money for more, all they can do now is wait, and hope.

We are trying to raise money for the hospital bills, and food & nutrition supplements, to save this baby and his mother.

I've known this family for a couple of years. They pooled resources to send the eldest, Mayowa, to university in the hope he can then get work and help pay for the education of his two little sisters and baby brother.

Such a small amount means so much. It also gives them the hope of knowing there are people who care, people who don't want their baby to die, people who understand that IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD, and that we are all that village.
