On January 6th, 2021, a massive mob of violent insurrectionists staged a brutal attack on our nation’s Capitol. They were stopped, thanks to the brave First Responders who risked their lives and held the line. Former U.S. Capitol Police Sergeant Aquilino Gonell is a humble, patriotic hero who now needs our help!

A proud immigrant and U.S. Army veteran who fought in Iraq, Sgt. Gonell courageously endured four hours of hand-to-hand combat. Vastly outnumbered, facing down the armed, frenzied mob, Gonell and his fellow officers took a terrible beating, shielding the elected officials and their staffs who had gathered to officially transfer power to a new Administration.

Sgt. Gonell suffered serious, life-altering injuries from that day that have required years of intensive rehabilitation and help for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Due to his physical and emotional wounds from January 6th, Sgt. Gonell has been unable to provide for his family since that fateful day. Shockingly, even though he was repeatedly struck, hit with makeshift weapons, and sprayed with pepper spray and other substances, he was recently denied sufficient financial benefits.
