<div>Adapted from the groundbreaking novel "The Woman Has No Name" by award-winning author and activist Duygu Asena, our film tackles themes of self-liberation from limiting beliefs ingrained in our roots, loyalty to ourselves, and the longing for our inner child.

<div>We follow the journey of a young girl, full of joy, curiosity, and life, as she goes through the trials and tribulations of growing up in a misogynistic society and fights for her independence. We also witness the intergenerational changes occurring in Turkey from the 1960s to 1980s.

<div>Our work will be characterized by the unique interaction of the dramatic with the musical world. Through this approach and our personal connection to the text, we expose the emotional turmoil our hero experiences with multifaceted artistic expression and thoroughly inhabit the world of a woman initially oblivious to her oppression and later isolated by society in her attempt to break out of it. Our adaptation will magnify her small acts of defiance with a playful but gut-wrenching tone.

<div>Duygu Asena’s book is not merely a cultural sensation that marks the strongest feminist outburst in Turkey but also remains the most relevant representation of the generational trauma that Turkish women continue to face. This project is for all women who believe in the possibility of a more equal world and fight for it, along with all humans who keep the playful and wise child within as an act of defiance.

<div>Through this fundraiser, <strong>we aim to reach our goal of $40,000</strong> so we can begin shooting in Summer 2025 with an international crew of talented creatives, submit our work to festivals, and launch the preparation process for a feature-length film.

<div>Filmimiz köklerimize işlemiş olanı kırış, içimizdeki çocuğa duyulan özlem ve öze sadakat temalarını ele alıyor. Neşe, merak ve hayat dolu bir kız çocuğunun, kadını ezen bir toplumda büyüme, özgürleşme ve insanca yaşama mücadelesine eşlik ediyor ve Türkiye’nin 1960'lardan 80'lere uzanan kuşaklararası değişimine tanıklık ediyoruz.

<div>Filmin görsel dilinin kahramanımızın oyunla dolu dünyasını yansıtması bizim için çok önemli. Kamera dilimiz ve özel bestelerimiz, izlediğimiz genç kadının bu hikayenin sadece başrolü değil, yönetmeni de olduğunu vurgulayacaktır. Amacımız, başlangıçta kendisine uygulanan baskının bilincinde olmayan bir kızın içindeki huzursuzluğu ve büyüdükçe, modern bir kadın olarak kurduğu yaşamını, duygusal yolculuğunu ve en önemlisi onun vazgeçemediği küçük isyankarlıkları mercek altına almaktır.

<div>Kadının Adı Yok, sadece Türkiye'deki en güçlü feminist uyanışa işaret eden bir eser değil, aynı zamanda günümüz Türk kadınının halen tecrübe ettiği kuşaklar arası travmanın en güncel temsilidir. Bu proje, daha eşit bir dünyanın var olabilme ihtimaline inanan, bu uğurda mücadele veren tüm kadınlar ve içlerindeki oyun sever ve bilge çocuğu bir isyan gibi hayatta tutan tüm insanlar içindir.
