Sheridan Family Donations

Hello all! As some of you may know, Harley Sheridan brought her beautiful baby girl, Finley Monroe, into the world last Saturday night.

The baby is doing okay but she did have some complications upon delivery. Finley is still in the NICU. Harley, Nathan and baby have not gone home from the hospital yet and it’s almost been a full week since Finley was born.

Here’s an update I got from Harley yesterday:

We found out that Finley's elevated kidney and liver enzymes were more than just "a little off". They were way off when she got here, which is a result of lack of oxygen. Essentially, when the body has a lack of oxygen, it starts pulling it from other areas starting with the kidneys and liver. Thankfully it did not continue, so her heart and her brain were not affected. But without eating, she's gotten dehydrated. And they gave her time to try and see what her body would do on it's own and it just didn't cut it. So they upped her feeding and if she doesn't take it then it goes in a tube.

Then she updated again a little later:

She had a really good day. She's finally eating almost all her requirements without the tube.

Everyone, please keep Finley, Harley, and Nathan in your thoughts and prayers.

Also, if you’d like to take a helping action, please feel free to donate to this gofundme that has been set up for the Sheridan family.

I told Harley I really wish we weren’t experiencing a global pandemic because I’d love to come visit her and bring a meal. Due to the current circumstances, I asked for their venmo so I could fund a meal for them (or whatever else they need/want). If you're interested - Nathan’s Venmo account is Nathan-Sheridan-1 or feel free to make a donation through gofundme.

Finley’s name means “Fair Warrior”.

Yes. Finley you absolutely are - a warrior indeed.

Thanks, all!

-April

Here is a note from Nathan that shares a summary of what happened to Finley upon arrival:

"She basically swallowed a lot of amniotic fluid and meconium due to the long labor and had some respiratory issues because of it. She couldn't breathe so they had to more or less suck all the fluid out her lungs and she had to be put on oxygen and her respirations were very fast. Doctor said she also experienced some trauma in the birth canal. Because of the respiratory issues she couldn't drink actual milk for a few days and that threw off her kidney and liver function. Once we could feed her, she wouldn't eat so she had to be tube fed for quite a while. It was all just one big snowball effect. So much more than that but those were the main issues."
