Sponsor a Refuge (Welcome Corps)

Nebyeleul Eyasu Gebreslassie is a refugee currently living in Uganda, who was a victim of Tigray genocide.

Nebyeleul was living in Ethiopia working as a computer tech and a barber when the war between the Ethiopian government and Tigray Reginal State started. During that time being Tigrayan was a crime. Nebyeleul, his siblings, other Tigrayans were were incarcerated, beaten and killed. Additionally, Nebyu witnessed death of fellow Tigrayans who were slaughtered like an animal including getting shot and stabbed.

With God's blessings, he was able to escape prison and travelled to Uganda where he is currently living as a refugee. This GoFundMe account is created to help him come to the United States through the program offer by Welcome Corps which will required his sponsors to collect $2,425 to get him adjusted in the USA.

This amount will cover obtaining legal documentation, cover the cost of his flight and other immigration processing fee. Once he gets here, having learned several skills including cutting hair, computer technology and other mechanical skills, Nebyu will adjust quickly to stand on his own.
