Tennis Ball Recycling Program In Marin
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hannah Gould, and I am a sophomore at Redwood High School in Larkspur and am on the Varsity tennis team. Did you know? Around 125 million tennis balls end up in landfills every year! This amounts to about 20,000 tons of non-decompostable waste per year (one tennis ball takes nearly 400 years to decompose). This is a big problem!
I have always been super passionate about helping the environment and trying to create solutions that will help clean plastics from our oceans. I am collecting donations to help purchase tennis ball recycling boxes. With permission, I will put these boxes at local tennis courts in my community, hoping to collect used balls. Once full, These boxes will get shipped to Recycle Balls; an organization powered by Wilson that accepts tennis balls in larger quantities and will recycle them into tennis court flooring.
