La Cabana Mexican Cafe was established in 1972. Steve Hernandez began working at the restaurant in 1989 and took over operation from his father in 1992 making it the local classic establishment that we all know today. Steve worked tirelessly to feed and host thousands of people from the Aurora area and helped create memories for generations. Hospitality was in Steve's blood and everyone who stepped into La Cabana got to experience his kind and caring nature.

Steve passed away suddenly on January 6th, 2023, leaving the family and restaurant in limbo. Steve has always supported the community of Aurora and we are asking for the community to now help his family as they transition during this difficult period.

Proceeds will go towards:

Funeral arrangements
Outstanding restaurant affairs
Contribution to local organizations/charities in Steve's honor (OLGC, Marmion Academy and Hesed House).
