STOP BIOSOLIDS being DUMPED in SECWEPEMC'ULECW

Donation protected
“Secwepemc Elders Sacred Fire is lit to stop Kamloops Bio Solids from dumping in Turtle Valley within our Shuswap Territory. Our Secwepemc are standing on our traditional Okanagan-Shuswap Confederacy Alliance. Sawses (Hereditary Chief and Sacred Fire Keeper) from the Shuswap says no to the dumping of toxic biosolids on our sacred lands and waters!! He and other elders stands against it to protect watersheds from contamination, as well as for the children, the fish, and buffalo and all that live down stream.” Miranda Dick, Secwepemc Matriarch/Secwepemc Elders Sacred Fire Spokesperson.
The Sacred Fire has now been going for 7 days and 7 nights and has been watched over by Sawses, one of the hereditary Chiefs of the Secwépemc people. The Secwepemc have Hereditary Chiefs and Matriarchal representatives at the blockade, along with elders, women, children and supporters (local and throughout Secwepemc’ulecw) are there to stop trucks from dumping biosolid waste on Secwepemc territory without Consent from the People. We are asserting our Secwepemc'ulecw rights and title to the land to stop the mass destruction being ignored largely by government, band councils and corporate industry.
In the past week, the Secwepemc Elders Sacred Fire water and land protectors have had several visits from local RCMP, police helicopters circling the area, Arrow Transportation representatives and their security, as well as the City of Kamloops officials who has been by threatening to sue and charge anyone who tries to stop them, saying that the injunction that was previously given to the residents and protesters applies to Secwepemc as well, and now they are saying we have until Monday to leave. We say NO!!! We are title holders, not residents; their injunction does not apply to us. The Secwepemc DO NOT CONSENT!! The time to stand is now!!!
The Secwepemc land and water protectors are standing for past, present and future generations; all we ask is that you support us in protecting all that is sacred in any way you can. HOW CAN YOU HELP?!?!
