Support Andrew's recovery and medical costs

Donation protected
Andrew Casper was violently assaulted Thursday night of Pride weekend, June 13, in Columbus’ historically LGBTQ+ Short North neighborhood. The assailant attacked Andrew—likely with a baseball bat—fracturing his cheekbone in two places, knocked him unconscious, and left him for dead in the street. Thankfully, someone found him in the middle of the night and immediately called 911. He was rushed to Grant Medical Center, where he spent the weekend, undergoing a successful surgery Saturday morning (6/15) to repair the extensive damage from the blunt force trauma to his face, and discharged Sunday evening. Andrew now faces a long, 4-6 weeks of recovery.

Although we are heartbroken and angered by this heinous attack, we are beyond thankful that he is alive and on the road to recovery.

We are looking to raise funds to assist with his mounting medical expenses, as Drew recently started a new job and is not yet eligible for his company’s healthcare plan, FMLA or short term disability. As such, he will need to enroll in COBRA to help cover some costs.

Thanks to everyone who has already reached out to help, visited him in the hospital, or simply sent love his way. He’s beyond appreciative of it. Please share this with your friends & family, donate anything you can, and have a safe rest of your Pride Month.
