Honoring Anita Nylund's Life and Legacy

My brother Brett and I are writing to you today to let you know about the loss of our beloved mother, Anita Nylund, who passed away on June 4, 2024. Our mom was a vibrant soul, proud of her Cajun and Louisiana heritage. Her husband Jerry, her kids, David, Brett, and Eric, and her grandkids, Drake, Tanner, and Jared, were the loves of her life. The family lost Jerry and Eric in 2020, forcing the family to postpone funeral services until May of 2021, due to Covid. Then, on Mother’s Day 2022, Brett suffered a life-altering stroke, and as Anita needed more care and assistance, had to move into assisted living. In the photo is Anita, Jerry and Brett celebrating her 50th birthday.

David lives in Sacramento CA and has been commuting back and forth to Detroit for the past four years, to care for his family. David has been the sole financial support for his mom and brother, since their dad Jerry died. He is now facing the cost of funeral services, again. The celebration of life service date is currently being planned.

We’ve started a fundraiser to collect donations for Anita’s service, to honor and re-member her.
